Parent/Student Contract

We acknowledge by signing below that we have read the syllabus for the course indicated above. We have reviewed the syllabus and understand the objectives of this course. I am aware of my instructor’s planning period, and I know how to contact her via e-mail or voice-mail for help with and/or clarification of course contents or procedures.  I understand that it is my responsibility to attend class and participate in discussions and projects. I understand that if I am absent, I am responsible for making up the missed assignments and for the material covered in class.  I understand how my performance will be evaluated and how my final grade will be determined.  I also understand that I MUST turn in a portfolio for the AP College Board on FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2018.
In addition, my instructor has provided me with the class rules and procedures. These procedures were discussed on the first day of class.  
  • Come to class and get here on time. Attendance is very important. 
  • Come to class prepared.
  • Allow others to learn by refraining from talking and calling out. Raise your hand to speak.
  • Listen carefully and follow instructions.
    • Pay the $60 photography fee as set by Miami-Dade County Public Schools before the end of the 1st quarter.
  • Use safety in the classroom and darkroom. 
  • Respect materials and equipment. Use equipment properly.
  • No cell phones or electronic devices allowed in class or in the darkroom.
  • Follow the Code of Student Conduct.
  • Each student is responsible for maintaining the darkroom and cleaning up after themselves. Failure to do so will result in loss of darkroom use. 
  • No wet prints or hands on or near enlarger stations.
  • Observe the order of the chemicals in both film and print processing. 
  • You will use a tray when bringing a test strip or print into the classroom for evaluation or to the print dryer.
  • Replace all lab materials to their original spot after use. 
  • If you are UNSURE about how to proceed in the darkroom, ASK for help. 
  • If you misuse or abuse equipment you will be responsible for it.
  • Communicate openly and honestly with Ms. Seijas when problems arise.

I am aware that violation of the rules and procedures may result in the following:
  • 1st offense – VERBAL WARNING
  • 2nd offense – WRITTEN WARNING (will affect conduct grade). 
  • 3rd offense – DETENTION
  • 4th offense – Referral to administrator for further disciplinary action.
